Before planting Veritas City, Pastor Greg served at Foothills Church in Knoxville, TN under the leadership of Dr. Trent Stewart. Foothills was also a church plant and Greg had the opportunity to help plant this church and be a part of its growth from 50 people to over 1,500 in 6-years. Greg was an elder at FC and also served as their Family Ministries Pastor, overseeing their birth through college life-stage teams.

In 2015, God placed it upon Greg’s heart to plant a church in our nation’s capital. Foothills Church commissioned Greg as their church planter on June 26, 2016 to send Greg to plant Veritas City. The Gibsons moved on August 6, 2016.

During his transition, McLean Bible Church also became a primary partner of Veritas City. Greg served with Pastor Eric Saunders of their Arlington Campus, strengthening their internal processes, and serving in a variety of other ways. MBC-Arlington is also a sending church for Veritas City.

On October 2, 2016, Veritas City hosted its first ever Vision Dinner. Throughout the course of 2016, over 75 people attended 3 dinners to learn more about the mission and vision for VCC.

In January of 2017, Veritas City launched it’s first bible study with 19-people, which will be the seed that will grow into the launch of the church.

On September 10, 2017, Veritas City officially launched as a church in Washington, DC. At this time, we were meeting across the bridge in Arlington, Virginia (Rosslyn) on Sunday evenings.

On July 1, 2018, Veritas City moved into it’s new 24/7 building in the heart of Georgetown right at the Georgetown Waterfront.
